How much does the alarms cost?
The alarms will not cost the homeowner anything. They are being provided by the Red Cross at no charge.
How many alarms will be installed?
The number of alarms will vary depending on the size of your house. The maximum that we will install is 5.
When will the scouts install them?
On the form, you will pick a time and date that you will be available. Then the day of installation, you will receive a email reminder that 2 scouts and 1 adult will be showing up to your door.

How do I know if I need a new alarm?
Remove the smoke detector from the ceiling. Look on the back of the device for the date of manufacture. Remember that smoke detectors should be replaced 10 years from the date of manufacture. If it's less than 10 years old, put the smoke detector back on the ceiling or wall.
Will you follow covid-19 regulations?
Before each group of scouts enter your house, they will be required to use hand sanitizer and use new gloves. They will also wear shoe covers. We ask that only the homeowner be in the same room or level as the scouts.
